Happy Birthday aka Recruitment! At aka we love birthdays, we don’t really need an excuse to celebrate but this year seems extra special. We are celebrating another year of being happy, healthy and successfully recruiting for our loyal motor and commercial clients – many whom we have been recruiting for since we opened our office in 2000. My aka journey started from my house in the conservatory after many years in recruitment and the Motor Trade I decided to work for myself. I remember typing a list of profiles of our job hunters (most whom were only registered with aka as they were Motor friends of mine) – this is something that has continued and many of our jobs hunters register only with us. I faxed (we didn’t have the wonder of e-mail then!) the list of available candidates at midnight after cutting out the job vacancies from the Yorkshire Post. I can still remember the feeling of sheer joy when on my answerphone the next morning was a message from Angus Keith from DM Keith (Skoda) with five brand new vacancies – the aka journey was beginning and I have loved every minute (well nearly!)
To have a great business you really do need great staff and I am very lucky I couldn’t have done any of it without my aka team they are the best in the business – birthday cake anyone??? Champagne Kirsty – oh yes, cheers 🙂
♥♥♥ Happy Valentines to all you ♥♥♥ I have been doing some research recently and so many people dread Monday mornings and it got me thinking – if you don’t love your job (of course not every minute but at least 80% of the time that you are at work) you seriously need to do something about it.
Make a list of the things you enjoy and look forward to and then the things you don’t – this will help you to focus on what is important and ensure we find you the right job. It is important to my fabulous team that we don’t find you any job but one that matches your criteria. This is why we prefer to meet our job hunters – get to know you and then we can find you your perfect match 🙂
I always like a happy ending and only recently found out that two job hunters who we found employment for 13 years ago, when we first opened our recruitment doors, met partners and married via their workplace…. aka the dating specialist – watch this space …………………..
Welcome to our first ever Blog, we are new to this so bear with us – we promise to try and be exciting. We had an amazing 2013, taking more vacancies and making more job introductions than ever. The office was covered in gifts from our ever grateful job hunters who appreciate that we meet them, where possible, and want to find the job that suits them not just any job – as we say “if you have a good job you have a good life”
2013 culminated in me taking my FANTASTIC recruitment team to Centre Parks in a luxury villa with a champagne tap (especially for Kirsty!), hot tub and spa area – because we’re worth it!
We look forward to the amazing challenges that 2014 bring, this is my 14th year recruiting for our amazing Office and Motor clients – we can’t wait to see what it brings 🙂
