Happy New Year – Have the best ever 2017

Happy New Year it’s been crazy busy here since we started back at work on Tuesday with lots of recruiters looking for staff to join their expanding team.

I don’t know how your New Year started if you made any resolutions do you feel ready and raring to go after a New Year / New You or do you feel stuck in a rut and need some TLC – if so you have come to the right place.

Get a sheet of paper and make a list of what changes you want to make in 2017 make it realistic and don’t feel bad if there are just two or twenty things on the list. Then focus on how you can make these happen because we can’t just wait for this to miraculously occur we have to put the work in too. If you want a new job its easy email your favourite recruitment agency (better be us) and we can help with the rest – call and meet one of our team and we will help you with the hard part – then when it comes to interviews we will help you there too – invisibly holding your hand at interviews etc. If you want to be healthier make a list of what you are eating/drinking then try and substitute anything with a high fat content or sugar with healthier options – little changes can make a big difference. It is so essential to incorporate exercise into your life, even half an hour walking can have amazing health benefits. We believe in the power of positive thinking and making time for your wellbeing There are lots of fitness DVDs Davina McCall has a new one out – now who doesn’t want to look like Davina. If your social life is lacking there are lots of clubs – tennis, keep fit, cookery, wine making, kids footy, whatever your hobbies are the club quickly becomes more than just that. I had a ladies night recently and when I looked at the guest list it was people I had met through social activates – don’t be afraid to get in touch with old friends too

Remember positive thinking, believe in yourself anything is possible it is up to you.
Have the best ever 2017 – find something to do that you love 🙂

Merry Christmas

We have had such a busy year here at aka where have the months gone – my guess is taking vacancies; it was a hundred miles an hour here – just as we like it.

We expanded our team with the amazing Emma Townend who has been an enormous help to our busy recruitment team.

We had an office full of chocolates, fizz (they know us well) and thank you cards as we placed lots of fabulous job hunters, some whom we placed within a record breaking 24 hours (wow).

December is a time to celebrate but also show compassion to people who are not as fortunate as we are. This year we have donated to many local charities and again to Kirkwood Hospice in lieu of cards and gifts.

Whatever your plans are at Christmas enjoy the time you spend with friends and family – have a fantastic Christmas and a happy and healthy 2017 remember we are here if you ever need our help in finding a new job no matter how daunting this may seem you are in safe hands  🙂

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Make 2016 The Year of You

Happy New Year it’s been crazy busy here since we started back at work on Monday with lots of recruiters looking for staff to join their expanding team.

If you want to update your image my friend went to Boots Number 7 and was given an amazing make over for free – I went to the Mac counter and was amazed with the results. If you feel you would like to incorporate some exercise into your life Davina McCall has a new DVD out – now who doesn’t want to look like Davina. A Year of Celebrations

We have had such a fabulous year here at aka where have the months gone – my guess is taking vacancies; it was a hundred miles an hour here – just as we like it.

We had an office full of chocolates, fizz (they know us well) and thank you cards as we placed a record number of job hunters, some whom we placed within a record breaking 24 hours (wow).

It was also another year to celebrate here as the fantastic consultants smashed all records. We had the most amazing get away, never to be forgotten trip, to London where we were our usual crazy selves – one of our many mottos is work hard play hard – we appreciate everything and don’t take our loyal job hunters for granted – we are at work for such a long time we need to make sure you are as happy in your work as we are!

It is so important that you look after your staff, our mantra is ‘if you have great staff you have a great business’ and I was very lucky to recruit the wonderful Jan Vickers who joins my elite recruitment team. She is superb and has brought the most amazing positive energy so fits in perfectly.

December is a time to celebrate but also show compassion to people who are not as fortunate as we are. This year we have donated to many local charities plus Mind, Alzheimer’s, Bloodwise and of course Kirkwood Hospice in lieu of cards and gifts.

Whatever your plans are at Christmas enjoy the time you spend with friends and family – have a fantastic Christmas and a happy and healthy 2016 remember we are here if you ever need our help in finding you a new job no matter how daunting this may seem you are in safe hands  🙂

Summer of Fun

Why don’t you join us here at aka for our Summer of fun – we have had so many stressful days over the past few months it has been so busy in fact busier than ever and patience’s can be very frayed. If you are feeling this way too, why not join us in having a re think about your life and how you are feeling. Recent tragic events in the news have made us take stock of what is good in life and what needs changing. If you don’t enjoy your job anymore don’t just moan on and on do something about it – this applies to everything and anything in your life. The sun is shining, make a list of what changes you want to make and go for it start afresh.

No matter how busy you are, inject some fun into your work day this can help when the tension is building. Take a break don’t just sit in front of your computer in your lunch break – go out if you can and get some fresh air. Remember we are not brain surgeons (unless you are!) work is very important but most of us don’t work within life and death situations so try and remember that – Pimms anyone!? 🙂

Have a fabulous happy Summer Kathy

A Year of Celebrations

Wow we have had the busiest ever few months here at aka headquarters, we had some very happy job hunters who wanted to wait until we found them their perfect job rather than rush into the first job that came along. It was also a year to celebrate 15 years of aka recruitment being market leaders. With lots to celebrate I took my aka ladies on an amazing sunshine break for a little R&R – we had a such a fab time and it gave us time to reflect on what a year and how well we all get on in and out of work.

It is so important that you look after your staff, our mantra is ‘if you have great staff you have a great business’ and I couldn’t believe that more.

December is a time to celebrate but also show compassion to people who are not as fortunate as we are. This year we have donated to lots of charities and then at Christmas to Kirkwood Hospice in lieu of cards and gifts.

Whatever your plans are at Christmas enjoy the time you spend with friends and family – have a fantastic Christmas and a happy and healthy 2015 🙂

Meet the Team

Meet the ‘A’ Team at aka Recruitment 🙂

Hiya I’m Kirsty and I’ve worked for aka for over 8 years, I love my job, and still get that great buzz when one of my lovely candidates gets offered their dream role. I get to meet different people every day, and love to have a chat over a cup of coffee. I must admit, although I do love my job, when it gets to Friday night I do look forward to my (well deserved!) glass of vino! I also live for my holidays – Greece would have to be my favourite destination, you can’t beat been in the sunshine with a cocktail!

I’m Hollie and I’m a consultant at aka Recruitment. I joined an already successful team and business, the training provided by Kathy and Kirsty has been amazing and I feel I have found my perfect job. Coming from a sales background I love the buzz and satisfaction of finding ours candidates their dream job. In my spare time I love to shop, watch the soaps lol and get out and about with my family and friends.

Hi my name is Mandy I work at aka as Office Support, I look after the girls while they are interviewing our candidates to place them in FABULOUS new jobs. Answering phone calls and queries, typing up CVs, sending out our BRILLIANT candidate profiles to AMAZING clients. I’m known in the office as a bit of a joker and a feeder as I think the girls should nibble throughout the day like I do (they disagree!) At home I love to mess about in my garden (especially with a glass of wine).

We’re a friendly bunch and look forward to helping you find that perfect job – contact our office today to speak to one of us 🙂

Welcome to our first ever Blog

Welcome to our first ever Blog, we are new to this so bear with us – we promise to try and be exciting. We had an amazing 2013, taking more vacancies and making more job introductions than ever. The office was covered in gifts from our ever grateful job hunters who appreciate that we meet them, where possible, and want to find the job that suits them not just any job – as we say “if you have a good job you have a good life”

2013 culminated in me taking my FANTASTIC recruitment team to Centre Parks in a luxury villa with a champagne tap (especially for Kirsty!), hot tub and spa area – because we’re worth it!

We look forward to the amazing challenges that 2014 bring, this is my 14th year recruiting for our amazing Office and Motor clients – we can’t wait to see what it brings 🙂
