September

This month we are very busy at aka recruitment in August when a little quieter we relooked at all our systems and where required made a few changes as it is important we are super-efficient.

If you have done the same job the same way for years why not look at what you do and see if you can make any changes to make your work life easier. We have done this and it’s amazing how many things we do because we have always done it that way.

So many people are working longer hours than required and don’t have a great work life balance – if you feel this is you it is important that you are working efficiently as small changes can make a big difference to cutting back on those extra unnecessary hours.

If your circumstances have changed, maybe your kids have gone to school or university and you feel this is your time to explore work options, why not contact my team here at aka. Send your cv to me first kathy@a-ka.co.uk and we can advise you on a new career path. We have just placed a local job hunter who had worked in a local school for over ten years and was ready for a new challenge into a commercial buzzing sales office. There is nothing like a new challenge to give you back your mojo

We as you may know love raising money for charity in July and August we have been supporting  a campaign to help the fight against Lyme disease.

Hollie, our consultant here at aka, has a friend Kelly who started a lovely little campaign about kindness, it’s called #spreadalittlesunshine. I want to remind people how easy it is and how good it feels to be kinder to one another.  With everything that’s going on in the world right now we seem to have forgotten that we are really good at this.

So to get your attention and to coax you into action and get this big ball of loveliness rolling…..her act of kindness was to complete 26 marathons in 26 days to raise £60,000 for a friend called Sol (sunshine in Spanish) who is suffering from chronic Lyme disease following a tick bite in the UK.  She is desperately ill and needs Stem Cell Treatment, this is her only HOPE and she wants to help her.

A grand gesture as far acts of kindness go you might say, but whether you complete marathons, give blood, help someone or simply smile at folk more often, together we can inspire change and make a real difference, to Sol’s life, to your life and to everyone else’s lives too.

Last but not least we are holding our McMillan coffee morning on Friday 29th September 9.30am-2.00pm – we would love you to join us for coffee and cakes and help raise money for this amazing charity
